Argentine DogoYesterday I was taking a nice evening stroll to catch some fresh air. As soon as I turned the first corner I saw a man walking an Argentine Dogo. Since we are both dog lovers we chatted about argentine dogos and pitbulls and you know what is funny? Both breeds have a lot in common when you investigate their history. You see the Argentine Dogo was created by breeding a lot of different breeds such as the boxer, bull terrier and great dane. The intention was to create a fighting machine that was able to fight wild boars and pumas who were destroying the country fields in Argentina. The conclusion, just like the pitbull, a strong, corageous dog that is very loyal to the owner, but not so patient with other dogs. Some people have the same problems with Dogos and don´t inform themeselves on what it takes to own one. (again just like pits). Altough not as popular as pitbulls in the obscure dog fighting rings, the argentine dogo has also been used for this purpose. Very sad indeed.
