Originating in South Africa, this dog is still bred there and exported to other parts of the world.

Weighing in at 110 to 175 pounds this is a large dog that can easily provide protection to the right owner. They come in many colors including fawn, red, brown, black. Some will have a mask; others will not.

Originally bred in the Kumaon Hills of India as a watchdog, only about 150 of the dogs remain in that area. The dog is large and muscular with an imposing head and aggressive disposition.
