White Pitbulls, what should you be careful about?

White pitbulls are very good looking but are not the most popular type of pitbulls there are.

People usually look more for blue pitbulls or red pitbulls . But what´s the big difference between white pit bulls and other pits? Do they have the same temperament? One is meaner and leaner than the other?

Is it like this, “if I want a mean pitbull then I should buy a blue pit and if want a sweeter one just get a white pit?

No of course not.

The color of the skin and nose is no indication of the character ok? So don´t base your search on the color thinking it associates a typical character.

But there is one thing that you should be careful with white pit bulls do you know what it is?

Can you guess?

It is their sensitivity to sunlight. Oh yes. White pits, especially the ones that carry a red nose should avoid too much exposure to sunlight especially the midday summer sun. And if you live in hot states like Arizona, Florida and so on you should be extra careful with this.

Some vets would even tell you to put some sunscreen on your white pitbulls nose when staying for longer periods of time at the sun.

My answer to the vet is this, “try it yourself to put sunscreen on any dog” what will happen is it will lick it off right away.

Anyway this is something to consider when choosing white pits. In what part of the country do you live? Do you have a shadow area where your white pitbull can stay during the hottest, sun punishing times? You surely don´t want to increase the possibility of your dog getting skin cancer!!
