How can I choose the right pitbull vet?
There are several factors that you should consider when choosing one.
1. Location, just because a vet is close by it doesn´t mean it´s the best choice. Some people argue that your vet needs to be close in case of emergency.
We think that it´s probably good to have someone close by that functions 24 h but if it´s not your preferred choice then use their services just in a very serious situation (ie. poisoning, accidents,...)
good to have some knowledge on what you should first do at home in an emergency situation.
2. Experience with the breed. Has the vet seen enough pitbulls to know the most common problems with the breed? The ideal vet should be experienced and have knowledge on a variety of breeds including pits.
3. Is the place clean and professional looking? How is the interaction between the vet and the technicians?
choosing the right vet is just like choosing the right doctor, it may take some research time and effort including trial/error and asking around but it will surely pay off in the end.
